Chief Information Security Officer Onemain Financial

Michelle Valdez started with OneMain Financial in Jan 2020 as the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO). She joins OneMain with over 15 years of cybersecurity and over 22 years of risk management experience in the US Air Force, US Government, and industry. Prior to OneMain, she was a Senior Director at Capital One for 5 years where she built the Cyber Resilience capabilities and lead the development of many enterprise-wide technology and security programs. She was also the technology risk leader for several of the post-breach remediation workstreams. Prior to Capital One, she held several positions supporting the Department of Defense, the Department of Homeland Security, and C-suite leaders across the critical infrastructure sectors. She developed national public and private sector cybersecurity policy and cyber resilience programs. She began her career as an officer and Special Agent in the US Air Force Office of Special Investigations.
