David Barker offers two decades of extraordinary success in a series of high level roles at top tier companies that include Stanley Black and Decker (SBD), EMC, Dell, Opentext Corporation and Epicor. David combines business acumen with a deep and broad understanding of technology.
Mr. Barker is helping position Stanley Black & Decker (SBD) as a leading expert in its fields with respect to the application of best practices in cyber security. He has developed formal security standards and policies and led the evaluation of vendors in IoT related disciplines. David routinely collaborates with product teams to navigate groundbreaking products from ideation to delivery, ensuring security is built into new offerings from the start.
Prior to joining SBD, David co-founded what became an $80M+ cloud-based business within the Enterprise Content Division of Dell EMC. The goal of this offering is to provide customers an instant-on, secure, managed, off-premise or on premise solution using Documentum and other products. The same platform and approach was also leveraged for the division’s new SaaS public cloud solutions released to market in 2016. David was awarded four patents for innovations developed to enable these services in a reliable and secure way.
David holds a Master’s Degree in Information Technology from
Carnegie Mellon University, as well as, a Master of Business Administration
Degree from California State University.
