Italian car manufacturer Ferrari has denied being the victim of a cyber-attack after ransomware gang RansomEXX claimed it had stolen 7GB of the company’s data and posted it online.
News of the alleged breach was posted by dark web intelligence feed DarkFeed on Twitterwhere it shared screenshots from RansomEXX in which they claimed to be sharing “some internal documents, data sheets [and] repair manuals”.
There is currently no information on how or when the hack took place and RansomEXX has not yet issued a ransom to Ferrari for the data posted.
RansomEXX has previously targeted companies including the Texas Department of Transportation, airplane manufacturer Embraer and Taiwanese computer hardware manufacturer Gigabyte.
Ferrari has so far denied the event, with a spokesperson telling Recorded Future: “Ferrari has no evidence of a breach of its systems or ransomware and there has been no disruption to our business and operations. The company is working to identify the source of the event and will implement all the appropriate actions as needed.”
